This depends on which formula you’re taking. If you are enjoying Do Not Disturb™, for example, this formula is best taken in the evening when you’re looking to wind down and have restful sleep. While Slay All Day™ is a caffeinated formula and is best taken before 3pm. Refer to your formula’s specific instructions for the best time of day to use. Or visit our Shop and view the product detail page of the formula you want to take.
This depends on the herbal formula you’re taking. For powdered formulas, one serving is considered one (1) teaspoon for every 6-8 oz of liquid. For herbal tinctures, one serving is one (1) full dropper. You can take more of your herbal formulas if you don’t experience any adverse reactions to lower amounts. For powdered formulas, use your Gold Daily Remedy Spoon to measure the exact serving. Your spoon is a ½ teaspoon size, so two scoops will give you the recommended amount of the formula.
There are no negative side effects expected or typical when using our herbal formulas at the recommended serving. However, allergies or negative reactions are possible, especially if you have a health condition, are on medication, or pregnant and nursing. Always consult with your health provider before taking any herbal products.
If you’re a seasoned herbal medicine user, you can take several formulas at the same time. If you’re new to herbs, refer to your formula’s use instructions to decide how much and when to take them. It's a good rule of thumb to go low and slow. Use very little amounts of the herbal formulas until you’re certain the effects are positive, then if everything looks good, you can experiment with using more and combining different herbal formulas.
Refer to the best-by date at the bottom of your package. In general, our powdered formulas can stay fresh for up to 18 months if unopened and up to 6-8 months once opened. While our tinture formulas can stay fresh for up to 12 months if unopened. We recommmend keeping your products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight for best results.
In our Shop, we have herbalist-crafted products that may be used before, during, and after pregnancy. Our pregnancy and breastfeeding-safe herbs are based on recommendations from the American Herbal Products Association’s Botanical Safety Handbook, 2nd edition. But always ask your medical provider before adding herbs into your routine, particularly during the first trimester.
Our herbal formulas are intended for people ages 18+. Overall, we consider the serving sizes of our herbal formulas, as found on the label, to be safe. Those who are sensitive to certain herbs or are considered seniors, may want to use less than the recommended amounts, especially when trying our products for the first time. From there, they can take more servings if their body responds positively. If there is a negative reaction to any of our herbal formulas, stop use immediately and consult with your health provider.
Our products are filled to their maximum capacity because we want to give you the most herbal medicine for the price you pay. As consumers ourselves, we also dislike when we order products and they arrive half-empty! All of our products are hand-filled completely to the brim. In terms of weight, our products are measured by weight and number of servings, not volume. Each product has a different density depending on the ingredients and may settle differently.
Each product is different and can be taken in a number of ways depending on your preference and previous exposure to herbs. Some are best taken with water while others are best with food, in smoothies, juices, milk, and even coffee. Review our recommendations on how to take your specific herbal formulas on the box or bottle of each product or in the Shop.

Yes, our herbal formulas can be used everyday. For those new to our products or herbal medicine in general, our clinical herbalists recommend taking no more than three teaspoons or servings per day. Fortunately, each of our formulas is expertly-crafted to contain a monthly supply of servings so you can enjoy your herbal remedies every day. Always refer to your formula’s packaging for specific serving recommendations.
If you’re a seasoned herb user and you have taken our formulas in the past, you may want to experiment with taking more than the recommended serving. However, if you’re new to herbs or you haven’t used our herbal formulas much in the past, we recommend using less than the recommended amount and building up your serving amounts over time. Our general rule is to not take more than 3 teaspoons or servings in one sitting.
Both powdered and tincture herbs can be effective ways to reap the benefits of herbal medicine. We love them both, but you may prefer one over the other. Both powders and tinctures can work well in combination depending on the desired effect and your health goals.
Powdered formulas are great because they use the whole plant and are often ground up in their raw form, and therefore, have a wide range of vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Powdered herbs are versatile in their usage and can be easily sprinkled onto food or blended into drinks using a frother or mixing tool. Overall, powdered formulas are ideal for addressing long-term health goals as their benefits can take days or even weeks and months to come into full effect.
Tincture herbs are wonderful, too, but for different reasons. Tinctures are concentrated forms of the herbs and are extracted using alcohol and/or glycerin. Due to their liquid format, tinctures bypass the digestive system and go straight to the bloodstream, thus, helping the herbs be more immediately felt by the body. Tinctures are also easy to take on the go and often don’t require frothing or mixing in order to incorporate them. Tinctures are ideal when you need immediate effects like present feelings of stress, physical discomfort, or a need for immediate sedative effects.
Herbs vary in their effects on the body. While some herbs can be mixed with medication, others may cause complications. Everyone is different and may be affected by herbal ingredients differently. Consult with your medical provider to discuss which herbal combinations would work with your current medication routine.
