Ingredients

Crumble filling:

  • 1 tsp Releaf™
  • 3 ½ c blackberries or black raspberries
  • 1 c raspberries (can sub cranberries, chopped apples etc)
  • 2 tsp orange or lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • Dash of cloves (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

For the crisp topping:

  • ½ c salted butter
  • 1 c flour
  • 3/4 c oats
  • 1/3 c brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. In a bowl, gently stir together berries, sugars, Releaf™, spices, orange juice and cornstarch.
  3. Pour into a casserole pan and spread out evenly. Set aside and make the crisp topping.
  4. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir constantly until the foam subsides and you can see the butter has turned brown and smells caramely.
  5. Immediately, pour butter into a bowl and let cool down.
  6. In a small bowl, stir together the flour, oats, sugar and cinnamon. Then, stir in the browned butter.
  7. Sprinkle the topping over the berries and bake for about 35-40 minutes. Crisp should be golden brown when done.
  8. Let cool for about 10 minutes and serve with vanilla bean ice cream
